Oh and a little side question, can a normal modem cable act as an LAN cable?
Thanks. How do I go about transferring a game from one computer to another through an LAN connection?
The best solution i would recommend for you is to create an image of the CD/DVD and mount it on another computer.
1 - Download CD Anywhere from:
http://download.cnet.com/CD-Anywhere-201鈥?/a>
2 - Install the software on your brother's computer and create an .iso file that contains the entire CD's content
3 - Move the iso file to your computer using a flash drive or network
4 - Download Daemon tools from:
http://download.cnet.com/Daemon-Tools-Li鈥?/a>
5 - Install the software on your computer and mount the image you created. After installing and restarting your computer, you can do so by going to Daemons tools icon in the taskbar area (lower right corner in windows), right click, select Virtual devices %26gt; Device 0 %26gt; Mount image. You should then select the file you created from your brother's computer. How do I go about transferring a game from one computer to another through an LAN connection?
You could rip the ISO off the disk and then use a virtual CD drive to run the ISO.
On your brother's computer, share the CD drive. On your computer, map that share to a drive letter. Put the CD in the drive on your brother's computer. Then install the game from the CD (it'll be the drive letter you mapped).
Simple and short answer is .. you can't.
