I have AT%26amp;T DSL at my home. We have a ';gateway'; I guess that is located in the living room. We have the living room computer hooked to that and then we have a dsl cable running from that to another bedroom that has a desktop pc in it. How would I be able to hook this up to a playstation 3? I am clueless. I have seen the wireless things but not sure exactly what to buy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
2WIRE Gateway hooked to living room computer and then a cord running to bedroom computer. How do I hook DSL through two computers and a PS3?
Well, to split a connection to multiple systems you need what is called a Switch. I would set it up like this:
DSL Modem - Switch - (all 3 systems with their own cable to the switch)
A switch basically creates a one-to-many connection (ie. 1 internet connection, many systems). How do I hook DSL through two computers and a PS3?
you could use a router
2wire 2701 hg-b? First of all, no you dont need a router to connect the PS3. 2wire's is a modem and a router at the same time. You can connect all 3 computers using an ethernet connection or you can get wireless adapter on the computers and the PS3 (if they dont have one) and conect the 3 wirelessly...
P.S You can always call AT%26amp;T tech support and then choose home netowrking. We cud help you connect and give exact infos... We're open 24/7! 1 877 722 3755...
I Work For AT%26amp;T Dsl Tech Support...you dont need a 2Wire to connect to a Ps3 but if your connecting Wireless a 2Wire is perfect.
Bassically PS3 has a WIFI connection so just set it to detect any wireless connections.....it should ask you for a wep key...but if you need extra help
