How can you find the name of the driver for your computer?

I lost the sound to my computer and need to install a sound device driver. How can I find the name of the driver to use?How can you find the name of the driver for your computer?
Look in device manager..





You might need to be logged on as an administrator in order to do this.





Open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.





See if there's a warning triangle next to your sound driver. If that's the case, try rolling back/updating the driver. If that fails or you don't have one to roll back - look on the manufacturer's site for the correct drivers for your OS/sound card, or use one of these generic ones.





For XP...





Download, install the first two files (AC97), then re-start.

For Vista/Win 7...





Download, install the Realtek AC'97 Driver (Windows Vista / Windows 7) , then re-start.

To install the drivers, double click the downloaded file and follow any prompts.
