How to fix a computer virus?

Yesterday I noticed some unusual activity on my laptop (using Vista);


According to 'AVG' I have a handful of low level viruses and trojans, and this morning my computer restarted itself and now I cant access iTunes or Internet Explorer (a notice appears saying ';app not found';).





What do you think it is, and I fix this myself without having to pay a professional?

at the stage it seems to be at now, you can fix it your self. with a good antivirus program, such as norton buy it and have it do a scan on your computer, it will let u kno all da threats nd viruses nd it will give you the choice to either delete it or quarantine it soo do it ASAP
Change your anti-virus software. Use Avast and run a FULL system scan. If that doesn't work, then you need to format your computer.
AVG had to remove a couple of programs it couldn't just remove the viruses from. Reinstall Internet Explorer (it's in the left panel - Windows Features) in the Programs and Features part of Control Panel), then download and reinstall iTunes.





Then download Firefox and use it as your web browser.





Then download Avast - http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-鈥?/a> and use it as your anti-virus program. It's better and faster than AVG.
